'Tucson, Arizona is better known for producing the desert fusion sounds of acts like Giant Sand and Calexico but experimental duo Trees Speak instead take inspiration from the motorik jams of bands like Neu! and Cluster. 'Ohms', the first of two albums from them this year (and the first original artist album to be released on the venerable Soul Jazz Records reissue label), distils those influences into bitesize fragments which, taken as a whole, provide a sometimes unsettling and often thrilling sun-baked take on krautrock.'
