Dali's Car was formed in 1984 Peter Murphy (vocalist) (Bauhaus), Mick Karn (bassist), keyboardist, guitarist, saxophonist) (Japan) and Paul Vincent Lawford (rhythm construction). They took their name from a Captain Beefheart song from his album Trout Mask Replica.
